Aerodrome Reporting Officer Refresher
See our Course Brochure for more information:
About the course
Our ARO Refresher course has been designed to help you stay current with recent industry changes and legislation updates. The intent of the course is to both challenge and increase the level of knowledge of Aerodrome Reporting Officers. Throughout the course you will have access to the AMS training team for support. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority recommends that ARO/WSO staff conduct recurrent training every 2-5 years (Advisory Circular AC 139.C-02 Aerodrome Personnel, 4.8.3).
This course is not recommended for individuals that are new to the role of Aerodrome Reporting Officer or Works Safety Officer, or for those that have not worked recently as an ARO/WSO. For individuals new to the role we recommend our Aerodrome Reporting Officer Skill Set.
Course entry requirements
This course is not recommended for those that are new in the role of an ARO or have had little exposure in the role of an ARO since their initial course. This course has been designed for those currently working as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer and want to maintain their industry currency.
You are eligible to undertake this course if you can provide the following evidence:
- Evidence of completing an ARO course and/or refresher training or have completed the Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) in the last 2-5 years,
- Can demonstrate your ARO Currency (we recommend sending us 2 x serviceability inspections that you have completed over the last 12 months to demonstrate currency).
This evidence needs to be attached to your enrolment or emailed to us shortly after enrolment.

AMS can also come to your site (class size capped at 10 people) to deliver a hybrid ARO Refresher course. The course will be customised for your team and aerodrome, and specific training gap requirements.
