About the Course
Our Nationally Recognised one-day course has been designed to provide participants with comprehensive skills and knowledge required to implement wildlife hazard control measures in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and national operating standards at their aerodrome. Our trainers are subject matter experts in this area with current and extensive backgrounds in airport management.
This course is mapped to the AVIW0023 Implement wildlife hazard management control measures unit of competency and meets the requirements of Part 139 MOS 17.07, and CASA Advisory Circular AC139.C-02 Aerodrome Personnel (3.2.2 – Reporting Officer (ARO)).

Course Duration
Our AVIW0023 Implement wildlife hazard management control measures course runs for 2 full days.
Course Entry Requirements
This course is not recommended for those that are new to the industry. We recommend applicants complete our AVISS00053 Aerodrome Reporting Officer Skill Set prior to attending this course or have a minimum of 6 months experience at an aerodrome.
It is important to note that this course is assessed at AQF Level 3 (Certificate III Level). During the course participants will be required to:
- Complete “standard” workplace forms and documentation.
- Read course materials, and understand verbal information provided throughout the course.
- Reading and writing for theory assessments.
- Perform basic maths calculations.
- Communicate with small groups for group activities.
Course applicants will need to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment prior to attending the course. This will be sent at enrolment.
Course Assessment Requirements
The course content will be delivered in a blended format. Course participants will receive their own comprehensive AMS Wildlife Handbook to reference during the course, and to keep for future reference. Theoretical assessment modules and simulated practical activities will be completed throughout the course.
AMS take a ‘no-surprises’ approach to all assessment activities. Each assessment will be explained to each participant prior to taking place, and course participants will have the opportunity to ask questions prior to the assessment taking place. Your trainer will provide additional training support where possible.
Our trainers will provide additional training and support where required, as per the AMS Learner Agreement.
Fees and Payment
A formalised quote will be provided upon request. As per our Refunds Policy (available on our website), we do not collect enrolment fees in advance where a purchase order can be supplied. For private students an enrolment fee is payable in lieu of a purchase order to secure your booking. Credit card payments can be made over the phone on (08) 9221 6777 on or after the first day of the course. A 2% CC surcharge applies for credit card payments. Please note AMS reserves the right to withhold certification until full course payment has been made.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course (including meeting assessment requirements) participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency:
